WOMEN AND BLOOD A SHORT STORY'S ORIGINS

There are so many liars and pretenders in the showbiz and film world that it is extremely difficult to trust people.
Reflecting on that, I wrote a short story in my latest anthology called "Women and Blood" based entirely on my encounter with a nutcase who claimed to be a producer and actor-when he was merely an extra- and who claimed to be producing $30 million films when there was no record of them anywhere. An insignificant character who pretended to be a war hero to attract female preys and who started to sexually harass me by sending me pathetic porn rewrites of my scenes...I did not respond to his repeated advances and the pretender became aggressive. Moreover this person who never played a real role in a film wanted one of the lead roles in my project and threatened me to cancel everything ( I really wonder what he was supposed to cancel since he had done nothing ???) and to "cancel" my lead actress who actually was my personal connection! Hence my title "Canceling Karen". Out of respect for this actress who is still on my film I changed her name but not that of this psychopathic fake producer that I fired last September.
I'm very thankful that I have met  one of my best friends through this very bad experience as she was on the project and I had to warn her about this predator.
