Johnny Hallyday-Requiem pour un fou

Je vous préviens n'approchez pas
Que vous soyez flic ou badau
Je tue celui qui fait un pas
Je ne ferai pas de cadeaux
Eteignez tous vos projecteurs

HOW TO WRITE A FILM TREATMENT

Film Treatments

How to write a film treatment

Generally speaking, a film's treatment is similar to that of an overview or synopsis of the film idea. It usually ranges from 8 to 15 pages and includes all the important conceptual elements, structured in 3-5 acts, each with a beginning, middle and end. When you submit your script, your treatment will often be the first document to be glanced over. If the main concept is enjoyable and your treatment is well written maybe, just maybe, your script will make it into the hands of the "professional script reader". This is an important element of screenwriting which you should know about. When you submit your script to producers, you will not be submitting your scripts to the major decision makers first. Your script will first have to pass through a filter that these large production companies have put in place.

Large production companies hire professional readers who go through the many scripts the company receives on a daily basis…

ANOTHER SPLENDID QUOTE FROM THE SUPERB DARK KNIGHT RISES

Image
Jim Gordon: I see a beautiful city and a brilliant people rising from this abyss. I see the lives for which I lay down my life, peaceful, useful, prosperous and happy. I see that I hold a sanctuary in their hearts, and in the hearts of their descendants, generations hence. It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.

Catwoman: Sorry I keep letting you down!

Catwoman: Come with me. Save yourself. You don't owe these people any more! You've given them everything!
Batman: Not everything. Not yet. Catwoman: I blow that tunnel open, I'm gone!

TONY SCOTT ON DAYS OF THUNDER

[on Days of Thunder] The problem was, we started on the movie without a script. Tom [Cruise] was already part of the line-up when I arrived and they said: "Tom can sit behind the wheel of a race car and smoke a cigarette and this movie will make a fortune." And that was the attitude we went in with. Robert Towne would be writing the scenes at night, we would shoot in the morning. It was a dangerous way to work. But we really thought, "Look - it's racing cars and it's Tom Cruise!" But you always have to get a story and you've got to get character first, and we hadn't.

BRIEF NOTE...

Thank you for all your messages, for those who keep asking, I’m doing very well! I’m feeling very inspired and last week bad experiences  are behind me!
Hope you’ll enjoy the new pictures I have posted for you as well as the latest screenplays sales reports…Some good projects,  and MANY BIOPICS, (a good sign as I have two biopic screenplays for sale myself).
As  for the science fiction screenplays,  Hollywood keeps using pretty much the same plots all the time, end of the world, apocalypse…Heat wave! Climatic disasters…
Come on guys, can’t you find something better? Most bad TV MOVIES use this kind of plot…

Time to hire new screenwriters what do you think?

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Jordan.

NEW PROJECTS

As you all know I've just recently finished CO-WRITTING "Don't stop dancing" a Michael Jackson biopic with producer Gary Revel. The screenplay is currently being shopped around in Los Angeles and to big studios, and we have an A. list director who already worked with Michael Jackson interested in the project.
Gary is making a fabulous job pitching the screenplay and putting all his passion into bringing it to life.

I enjoyed co-writing with him so much, it was a real pleasure to work with him, he's so easy to work with, we both enjoyed each other’s ideas and we both share the same passion for this project.
As you all probably know I write like I breathe and I need to create, living in the real world, is not my cup of tea at all, and I need to escape into fiction quite often, which makes me a very prolific writer!
(see my site www.jordantate.net)
I have completed several treatments during the past few weeks, with an eye to turning them into feature screenplays includi…

Vertigo Is the New "Greatest Film of All Time"

Vertigo Is the New "Greatest Film of All Time"

By Forrest Wickman

Posted Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at 3:29 PM ET

Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo has overthrown Citizen Kane as the greatest film of all time, according to British magazine Sight & Sound. Citizen Kane had previously won the top spot in each decade since 1962. (Bicycle Thieves won the first Sight & Sound poll in 1952.) Vertigo’s rise to the top spot was not unheralded, however: It has risen in the poll’s estimation each decade since 1982, and came unusually close to unseating Citizen Kane in 2002.

The only two new entries to the top ten are Dziga Vertov’s experimental documentary Man with a Movie Camera (1929), making its first appearance at No. 8, and The Passion of Joan of Arc (1927), which also appeared in the 1952, 1972, and 1992 polls. Both films are silent, making for an unusual (but not unprecedented) three silent films on the list. (I, for one, blame Uggie.) The other silent film is Sunrise: A Song of Two H…

CHRISTOPHER NOLAN: ON MOVIE ENDING

Christopher Nolan: "For me, movies are all about knowing the end of the story. Once I know the end of the story, once I know where it's going, then I know I'm going to climb on that train, I'm going to make that film, and we're gonna really try and do something with it. So one of the first things I knew about the project is how we were going to end the story."

Tippi Hedren on Hitchcock: "genius and evil and deviant"

NEW YORK (TheWrap.com) - Tippi Hedren spoke Wednesday about rampant sexual harassment by Alfred Hitchcock nearly half a century ago, during the making of "The Birds" and "Marnie."

"I think he was an extremely sad character," she said during a panel discussion of HBO's upcoming "The Girl," which recounts her troubled relationship with the director. "We are dealing with a brain here that was an unusual genius, and evil, and deviant, almost to the point of dangerous, because of the effect that he could have on people that were totally unsuspecting."

She was one of those people, she said.

Hedren, now a glowing 82, was a model in her early 30s when Hitchcock hired her for "The Birds." Although there were times of "d…
