Screenwriter and author Jordan Tate is working on a new version of “Snow White”.
After "White Gold,"
screenwriter and author Jordan Tate is working on her next novel, a
dark and feminist version of “Snow White”.
After
having touched many readers with her last novel "White Gold",
in which she denounced the ivory trade and elephants slaughter
ensuing, screenwriter and author Jordan Tate is currently working on
a dark version of "Snow White" which she describes as very
different from the previous adaptations. She says the idea for the
book came to her last January, long before the kissing controversy,
while she was writing "White Gold.
Her version will
focus on Snow White's evil queen and stepmother, depicting her from a
completely new perspective.
Jordan also warns that her
novel will not be aimed at children because it will deal with
difficult topics.
The synopsis of the book scheduled for
release on Halloween 2021 is still kept under wraps...Only these few
enigmatic lines have been disclosed:
"I could
start this story with "once upon a time", I could lull you
into an illusion, tell you about this young queen sewing in front of
her window, a happy and fulfilled young woman thinking about her
future child's face while looking at the snow… I
could tell you all this...But I would be lying to you.”
